Nicholas Hoult has joined Dark Places which also stars Charlize Theron! Chloe is currently in talks to star in the movie.

Chloe Moretz is in negotiations to join Charlize Theron in the thriller Dark Places. The actress would play a character named Diondra in the adaptation of the Gillian Flynn mystery novel, about a woman forced to re-face the massacre of her family over two decades before. Deadline broke the story in early February that Theron was on board. In the film, Theron, who is co-producing through her Denver and Delilah Productions, plays Libby Day, a woman who 25 years ago testified against her brother as the killer of their family. Now a group called the Kill Club believes he is innocent and is out to prove it. Gilles Paquet-Brenner is writing and directing the adaptation of the 2009 book. Exclusive Media is fully financing and producing alongside Denver and Delilah.

Deadline recently broke the story that Moretz is in talks, along with Anne Hathaway and Sam Rockwell, for the Lynn Shelton-directed comedy Laggies. She is reprising her Hit-Girl role in Kick-Ass 2 later this summer and as the lead in the Carrie reboot in the fall. Moretz is repped by WME and 3 Arts.

An awkward young man, Lyle is the treasurer of the Kill Club, the group investigating the case of the killing of the family of Libby Day (Theron) As Deadline broke earlier this week, Chloe Moretz is in talks to join the Exclusive Media and Denver and Delilah Productions produced film too. Gilles Paquet-Brenner is writing and directing the adaptation of the 2009 book. Hoult was recently seen in the zombie romance Warm Bodies and Warner Bros’ Jack The Giant Slayer and will be in the upcoming Mad Max Fury Road, also with Theron. He’ll also be in X-Men Days of Future Past and Young Ones. Hoult is repped by UTA and 42.

Chloe is in negotiations to star in a new movie called Laggies which will be directed by Lynn Shelton!

Anne Hathaway, Chloe Moretz and Sam Rockwell are all deep in negotiations to join Laggies. The Lynn Shelton-directed dark comedy chronicles perpetual adolescent and late-twentysomething Megan (Hathaway) who, freaked out by her boyfriend’s marriage proposal, pretends to go on a career retreat but actually hides out for a week with 16-year-old Annika (Moretz), her new best friend. Mark Webber is also in talks to join the film as Megan’s boyfriend. Rockwell will play an older character named Craig in the film, written by Andrea Seigel. Steve Golin, Alix Madigan and Rosalie Swedlin are producing for Anonymous Content. Madigan brought the project to Anonymous, developing it and bringing Shelton on board to direct before attaching any cast.

It’s been a busy year so far for Shelton. After its premiere at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, Magnolia picked up her latest effort Touchy Feely for worldwide distribution. The film is a follow-up to Your Sister’s Sister, which Shelton also wrote and directed. Touchy Feely stars Rosemarie DeWitt, Josh Pais and Ellen Page.

Rockwell is repped by Gersh and Untitled Entertainment. Moretz, repped by WME and 3 Arts, will be seen later this year reprising her Hit-Girl role in Kick-Ass 2 and as the lead in the Carrie reboot. Hathaway, repped by CAA and Management 360, won the Best Supporting Actress Oscar last month for her Les Misérables performance.
